Referrals - Letter to referring dentists
Dear Colleague
Do you see patients who require complex restorative, periodontal, implant or cosmetic treatment that you feel (for whatever reason) you do not want to provide? If you answer “Yes” please take a few minutes to read the rest of this letter.
I have been treating and satisfying these cases for twenty nine years. I have a Masters degree (obtained with Distinction in 2000) in Restorative Dentistry and Periodontology. I have been placing and restoring dental implants in complex situations since 1991. I have oral surgery indemnity for bone grafting, osteogenesis distraction and sinus lift procedures. I am a full member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, an elected Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Fellow of the British Society for Restorative Dentistry and twenty year member of the Association of Dental Implantology (GB). For over ten years I have been receiving regular referrals from NHS and private dentists in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire.
I do hope you do not mind me writing to you, but If you feel I can be of any assistance to you with these type of cases, now or in the future I have enclosed some referral forms and SAE’s in this folder for you to send me their details.
I love to restore and reconstruct broken down mouths or worn teeth, replace missing or very loose teeth with fixed bridgework and implant answers, or stabilise periodontally involved teeth with the latest regenerative techniques (such as Emdogain and laser therapy etc.). I enjoy trying to satisfy the most cosmetically demanding patients. Winning around one of these types of patients, exploring suitable options and completing their chosen treatment is one of the most satisfying aspects of dentistry to me. When these patients then go back and praise me to their referring dentist, I know I have been truly successful as a dentist.
I always aim to offer value for money affordable private dentistry. As well as taking all the usual credit cards, subject to status, patients can have easy pay and even interest free installment options when having complex treatments. Many of my referring dentists work in the NHS and I am always aware and sensitive to the fact that any referred patient has to be happy both with my fees and that their dentist has referred them to me. When I have completed the treatment I always try to ensure that the patient goes back to their referring dentist for their on going care.
A consultation for your referred patient starts from £31.15 but a typical one hour consultation with appropriate radiographs (for example; OPT and two small films) usually costs the patient £72.45, further discussion is usually carried out without further charge. A deposit of £30 is paid by the patient on booking the consultation appointment in case of late cancellation or non attendance.
Again, my apologies if sending you this letter is inappropriate to you, but if you feel I can be of any help I would be happy to receive your referrals.
Your sincerely
John M Grummitt LDS RCS (Eng.) DGDP (UK) MMedSci
P.S. I also place implants for referring dentists to restore themselves from £1,248 per implant: I am a 3I Biomet Platinum awarded user. Please telephone if you are interested in this service. We also have a Clinical Dental Technician who is available for demanding denture cases.
